While the name “Queen Anne” came from an English architect, it does not refer to a real queen (which England still has). It was just a made-up name for the home style. A Queen Anne style home usually has lots of decoration, a variety of window sizes and shapes, and steep roofs.

Discuss:  How many different sizes and shapes of windows can you see in this Queen Anne home?

This home was built in 1905. The first owners of this home were Walter and Edith Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a traveling shoe salesman. At that time, Columbus, Ohio had many shoe manufacturing companies.

Fun Fact:  In the early 1900s, 1 out of every 8 shoes made in the United States was made in Columbus.

Previous home owners have said that a shy, friendly, ghost resides in the second-floor bedroom in the turret, or the round tower-like part of the home on the left side.

Discuss:  Would you like to live in a home with a ghost?
