At 0.07 acres, Triangle Park is the smallest park in Grandview Heights. Bring some snacks for a quick break on your tour at the park's picnic bench.

Many of the unique homes around Triangle Park were built in the 1910s to 1920s by the Northwest Boulevard Company, the primary developers of property east of Grandview Avenue. Home prices, as stated in a 1918 advertisement, ranged from $7,000 on up and were "modern in every way". For example, the residence in this photo at 1234 West First Avenue (across Parkway Drive at the northwest corner of Triangle Park) was built in 1924 by the company. The original home was wood shingle-sided with an entry from a long porch on the east side. The first owner of the home was Murray Lincoln (left inset), founder of the Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, which evolved into the Nationwide Insurance Company. The home's transformation into an English Tudor (inset right), complete with a majestic tower, began in 1968 when the home was purchased by Columbus architect Lajos Szabo and his family. This photo shows the Szabo's sons on the porch and tree lawn, circa 1968, after the conversion to the new front entrance. Renovations and additions to the residence, carriage house, and grounds took place over the entire 36 years (1968 to 2005) that Szabo owned the home.

Photo from a February 1918 advertisement by the Northwest Boulevard Company which was owned by Ben and King Thompson. The Thompsons developed much of Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff, including the area around Triangle Park, and were also founders of nearby Upper Arlington. The view looks west up First Avenue and shows the corner of First and Virginia Avenues; Triangle Park would eventually be located approximately where the small shed is in the right of the photo. Many of the homes shown in the photo remain as beautiful and functional residences for current residents.

This photo, from an April 1918 advertisement by the Northwest Boulevard Company, shows the intersection of Parkway Drive and Virginia Avenue in the company's Northwest Boulevard Addition development. The (now) Triangle Park would be located on the bottom right in this east-facing photo.
