Greenways Tour

In the late 1800s, the heavily-wooded undeveloped area which eventually became Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff provided a refreshing respite from the heat and smog of industrialized downtown Columbus. Wealthy Columbus residents built homes in the area as summer retreats, replacing gray city life with green country charm. A bit and bridle club, golf club, swimming hole/pool, and other amenities added over the years encouraged outdoor pursuits. Grandview Heights has been annually designated as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation since 1984. Today Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff offer approximately 45 acres of parks, green spaces, and diversified urban forest for residents and visitors to enjoy. The Greenways Tour includes separate East and West Loops, each about 2 miles long.
